ShotClock
Parent Immunization Dashboard (Mini Case Study)

Overview
ShotClock is a simple, parent-facing immunization tracker designed to make vaccination records easier to understand, maintain, and share. The goal was to reduce confusion around required vaccines, boosters, and school entry requirements.
Users
Primary: Parents and guardians of school-aged children
Secondary: School nurses, pediatric offices, immunization clinics
Parents need a dashboard that clearly shows:
✔ What’s done
✔ What’s overdue
✔ What’s required for school
✔ How to access official documents

Key Constraints
-
Must be parent-friendly, not overly clinical
-
Needs clear dose tracking per vaccine
-
Should show overdue items without causing alarm
-
Must support school compliance requirements
-
Must allow easy access to IMM documents
-
Needs to work on both mobile (quick checks) and desktop (full detail)
The Solution
-
ShotClock simplifies immunization tracking with:
-
✔ Clear vaccine cards
-
Each vaccine shows:
-
Name
-
Dose progress
-
Remaining doses
-
“Vaccination Sufficient” or “Shots Needed”
-
✔ Overdue alerts
-
A simple, non-alarming alert notifies parents when a booster is overdue
(e.g., “Tdap needed for 7th grade entry.”)
-
✔ Special immunizations
-
Vaccines like Tdap and MCV4 are highlighted in their own section since they have unique booster schedules.
-
✔ Optional shots
-
Flu, COVID-19, and HPV appear in a separate section for transparency.
-
✔ Universal Profile
-
A single identity page that shows:
-
Verification badge
-
Linked providers
-
Linked schools
-
Insurance
-
Document access
-
Share options (QR code, link, email)
-
This screen connects the child’s identity to the IMM system without adding clinical clutter.
-
✔ Easy access to official IMM records
-
Parents can download or view the IMM form with one tap.
Key Screens

Overdue Immunization Alert
This screen notifies the parent that Tdap is overdue and highlights which vaccines still require additional doses. Each card displays shot progress and sufficiency status for quick understanding.
Mobile Experience

Up-to-Date Immunization Record
Once the Tdap booster is completed, the alert is cleared and the profile returns to a standard state. All vaccination cards show current shot progress and compliance status.

Universal Profile Overview
A verified, centralized profile showing linked providers, school organizations, insurance, immunization history, and required documentation. Optional shots and export/share tools allow parents to manage records from one place.
Desktop Experience

Comprehensive Immunization Dashboard
A desktop overview for managing upcoming appointments, overdue vaccines, vitals, optional shots, and full vaccination history. Special immunizations like Tdap and MCV4 are separated for clarity, and parents can download or request records with one click.
Outcome
ShotClock reduces confusion, supports school compliance, and gives parents a clear, simple way to manage their child’s vaccinations.
The Universal Profile extends the experience by providing a verified identity layer for clinics, pharmacies, and schools.
